Weekly sketches are back!

After a long leave I am returned!
I've taken a long time off from drawing and making posts, partly due to travelling, but mostly I'm settling into a new stage in my life: work. I graduated engineering and am now the proud owner of an 8 hour job! Hurrah!! It's taken me a while to ease back into my hobbies. I've manage to get back into music pretty smoothly, and now have a schedule to work around!

Now to the reason why you're here: ART!

I've been working a lot more on expression and the human form. During this time, I found about the great Frank Frazetta. Frank Frazetta is most notably known for his book cover illustration, and worked on such works like John Carter, Conan the Barbarian, and Tales from the Crypt. I attached a Wikipedia link if you would like to learn more.
Something about his work made everything about drawing the human body click. His perfect grasp of andatomy and contrast is like none I've ever seen before. The three drawings bellow are pretty much direct copies of three of his own work, which I've also attached links to in the description of each sketch.

The caveman I drew first, and I took some liberty with the drawing. The woman I drew second, and with this one I developed an exercise to attempt and duplicate the drawing in 30 minutes or less, which I achieved!

The night I drew the caveman, I liked him so much I did a few more studies on him, which you can see bellow. I might have also had some influence from Jumanji in drawing this one, but I'll leave that up to you.

I continued the exercise, this time drawing two scenes I liked from the trailer to "The Master". The biggest lesson I learned from Frazettas art to observe the source even closer so as to draw what is really there, and not what I've learned should be there.

This week I will be working on how to apply all this to inking, and hopefully by next week I'll have more work to show off. Thank you so much for visiting and be sure to COMMENT! All feedback is welcome!

So after many months,  I have finally drawn something new!! I owe this completely to a great friend of mine who wrote the beautiful words above. This collaboration is being submitted to the hitRECord.org book titled The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories, Vol. 3. If you haven't visited the website or checked out the previous two volumes, I encourage you to do so! It is an excellent way to see new and exciting art, get inspired, and if lucky, star some amazing collaborations!

Now here is where you can help! In order to get chosen to be published in the book, the collaboration needs enough hits so that it gets to the top! Please, Please, Please visit the links above, share them, like them, any way you can spread it I would greatly appreciate it! If you are a member of hitrecord, go to the first link and search my drawing (A Climb to the Moon) and my friends story (The Boy Who Fell In Love With The Moon) and super like and recommend them both! You will be forever appreciated! Since the likelihood of us meeting is limited, that's as much as I can offer!
